Jenelle Lee, founderMandeville, Jamaica · Serving US businesses remotely
Bookkeeping is not about taxes. Bookkeeping is not about compliance. Bookkeeping is the foundation of every good business decision.
Jenelle Lee
I trained in accounting, took a job as a bookkeeping supervisor, and found the work every business decision rests on. Now LeeCole Advisory is my own practice, kept small on purpose. I am not in the race to just get clients quickly.
How the partnership works.
Two sides, agreed before the work starts. My method has three parts, financial clarity, strong systems and accountability, and the last one runs both ways.My method: financial clarity, strong systems and accountability. The last one runs both ways.
My side
A diagnostic review first: your books, workflows and controls, so the fix isn't a guess.
Books kept current and reconciled every month, not only at tax time.
Cash flow, budgets and job-level profit in plain numbers, so you can see why profitable on paper isn't cash in the bank.
Written procedures your team can follow without me.
Regular reviews and follow-through, so problems don't sit unnoticed for months.
Your side
Share what I ask for, when I ask.

Fraud hidden in subcontractor costs
At a service business: unreconciled accounts and severe cash-flow pressure, until a deeper review found misappropriated funds disguised as subcontractor expenses. I documented it, rebuilt payables and receivables, and put in weekly cash-flow reporting. Reliable reporting and profitability came back.At a service business, I found misappropriated funds disguised as subcontractor expenses, rebuilt payables and receivables, and put in weekly cash-flow reporting.
18 months of neglected books
At a professional services firm, the owner doing the books alone had fallen 18 months behind, with payroll errors and a missed tax deadline. I reconstructed the books, rebuilt the chart of accounts, corrected payroll and delivered tax-ready statements within one month. For a professional services firm, I reconstructed 18 months of books, corrected payroll and delivered tax-ready statements within one month.
Years of wrong reconciliations
At a small business, taxes had been filed on unreliable books. I undid and rebuilt the reconciliations, worked with the tax professional on corrected reporting, fixed 1099 reporting, and put in SOPs, monthly reviews, budgeting and forecasting. At a small business, I rebuilt the reconciliations, fixed 1099 reporting, and put in SOPs, monthly reviews and forecasting.
The CPA who sends me the hard ones.
Twenty years in public accounting, in his words.
I have worked with Jenelle for several years along with many other bookkeepers in my 20 years in public accounting. Jenelle is one of the best - she is my go-to referral for tricky clients that need a lot of attention. My clients always send me presents for referring them to Jenelle - so I will continue doing so.

What owners ask me first.
What is LeeCole Advisory?
LeeCole Advisory is my practice: bookkeeping, financial management and fractional CFO work for owner-led US businesses in property management, real estate, cabinetry, millwork and the trades. I'm Jenelle Lee, and I work with every client remotely from Mandeville, Jamaica. Every engagement starts with a diagnostic, from $150.
What happens on the discovery call?
It's 30 minutes on Google Meet, with me. We talk about where the business is now, what isn't working and whether we are the right fit for each other. There's nothing to pay to book it. If it's a fit, the next step is a diagnostic.
You're in Jamaica. Does that work for a US business?
Yes. I have served US clients remotely since 2018, and I spent four years as Director of Accounting Services at a US firm. Jamaica keeps US Eastern time in winter and Central time in summer, and I'm available during US business hours.
What happens in the diagnostic?
A structured review of your books, reporting, workflows, internal controls and financial risks. You get a report with what I found, what I recommend and the next steps in order, then a proposal with the scope, deliverables, timeline and fee. You are in control: the findings are yours to act on, whether you work with me after or carry them out yourself. If you hire me after the diagnostic, what you paid for it is credited toward your first month.
Do you bill by the hour?
No. Monthly work is a monthly fee set in your proposal, from the starting prices above. Clean-ups and SOP projects are quoted before they start.
I only need my taxes filed. Is this for me?
No. For filing, a CPA or tax accountant is your best bet, and I'm happy to recommend one. I keep your books current, watch your cash flow and help you make decisions all year, not just at tax time.
Which software do you work in?
I'm a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor and a JobTread certified bookkeeper. I also use Xero and Rentvine, the property management software, and I'm open to learning new software. The diagnostic tells me what your setup needs.
Bring the books you're not sure about.
A discovery call is where it starts: where the business is now, what isn't working, and whether we are the right fit for each other.
